Wholesale Drop Shipping — The Key To Working From Home
Written by Jake Sabey on April 6th, 2010
You don’t have to have thousands of dollars. You don’t have to sell your first-born child. You don’t even have to go to the bank. You can fulfill your dreams of working at home and owning your own online retail business by using wholesale drop shipping.
What is it? Wholesale drop shipping is a way to provide products to your potential customers without having to buy them first. Yes, that’s right. You don’t have to invest in hordes of purchased products, clean out your garage or rent a place to store them, and wonder how you’re going to pay for all the packaging, shipping, and handling fees up front.
Wholesale drop shippers already have established relationships with manufacturers. This gives them, and ultimately you, access to millions of products to sell. After a customer places an order on your Web store, you simply relay the order to your drop ship company.
They process the order by sending it to the manufacturer or wholesaler that supplies the product for them. Then that manufacturer or wholesaler packages and ships the product to your customer.
You may be thinking, that’s a lot of hands in the pie. It is, but since these guys do this daily, the process goes quite smoothly and quickly. The best part is that your customer has already paid you for the product, so nothing is coming out of your budget.
What will come out of your pocket is the cost of putting up a Web site with a domain name and a server (where your site is stored). With places like GoDaddy, Microsoft Office Live, and Yahoo! Domains, this can be easily done for less than $20 a year!
You will also need to pay for access to your whole drop shipper’s products and services. This can run from a mere $20 a month to several hundred. But, it depends on the drop shipping service you choose. You might save even more money if you choose a drop shipper that also offers to host your Web store.
Any way you look at it, using a wholesale drop shipper will cost thousands less than funding the whole shebang yourself. And you’ll enjoy the profits because all you’ll have to worry about is marketing your store!
