Some people regard Bill Gates with a lot of venom and he can easily pass as the most hated man in the USA. I would not be surprised if you are one of those who hate him.
You should know him better, as one of the most philanthropic in the whole world. Look at what the Bill Gates foundation is doing, giving more than 1.5 billion dollars to charitable projects.
Remember Bill Gates just tendered his resignation to Microsoft to spend all his time with the Foundation and to give his whole life to the charitable work. This is the kind of guy most would still talk about as an asshole. It must be a case of sour grapes; the unsuccessful people having a negative attitude about Bill Gates.
Could be you think Microsoft cannot remain untainted. Well, think of the likelihood that there could be even worse corporate in America.
Microsoft and even Bill Gates are quite honorable in the whole world, and that is why people want to be associated with their success story and social responsibilities. Bill Gates himself has become a celebrated name in the world of high achievers who started from zero.
The bottom line is that one must be a taker before he can become a giver or else there would be nothing to give out. There is no virtue in trying to remain small in order to appear humble.
Bill Gates knew there was no virtue in remaining poor and small, so he did everything possible to become a blessing to the world. Ask yourself what you are doing to impact the society in general.
What Bill Gates is doing to help the world is huge, ranging from the AIDS research funding, alleviating hunger in the world, and just trying his best to be an excellent person internationally.
The very rich should not be seen as evil or greedy people. If you can understand this, you will know that it is more practical for you to take before you can get what to give to others. This will stop those who think they are good people and that is why they are poor so they do not want to climb to the level of the rich.
