The Simple Way to Lose 30 Pounds
Written by David Stevens on April 10th, 2010
We all aren’t born with the knowledge of how to properly lose 30 pounds or more. Sure, we might know a little bit, but rarely enough. All it takes is just a little bit of research. So, here is a bit of the basics that everyone should be aware of.
The most important thing to remember is that you need to burn more calories than you eat. Exercising and weight loss go hand in hand. Remember that while exercise is important, it is more important to focus on your diet. In this article, I’ll be talking about your diet for the most part.
My definition of food involves something you eat that provides more positives than negatives. You can eat dirt, but it isn’t food. Just because junk food has the word “food” in it, that doesn’t mean literally. Follow my advice to help you get started with a healthy diet.
Can you think of one reason why anyone should eat donuts? What do they consist of – sugar and flour? Don’t forget about them being deep fat fried. And when people eat them for breakfast, it is usually the only thing eaten.
Soda, filled with nothing but water and sugar, is another staple that needs to go the way of the dinosaurs. Diet soda, with it’s chemicals, is not a better choice. There is really no reason to drink any kind of soda.
Potato chips and french fries are poison. The negatives of this type of food far out-way any positive nutrients. It simply needs to be eliminated from your diet entirely.
With all this talk about what you shouldn’t eat, let’s talk about what you should. a good choice is to make sure that you have include fiber and protein in every meal or snack. Chick and fish are great for your protein, while fruits and/or vegetable are great for fiber. For pasta, bagels, and bread, make sure that the package says on it “whole wheat.”
It’s important to note when you eat. Every three hours is ideal. If you have a big meal, make it breakfast or lunch. If all you’re trying to do is lose around 30 pounds, go for a range of between 1600 and 2200 calories (depending on how much you already eat).
Working out is a pretty important part of your weight loss goals. Find something that is fun (like biking, racket ball, jogging, soccer, swimming, or whatever). What is important here is that you perform the right kind of workout, one that really gets your heart pumping. If you’re unsure about your current health, talk to your doctor before starting a workout program, and then exercise at least three times a week. Don’t delay!
