Written by Teresa Holden on October 5th, 2009

It used to be that you had to go to the video store to get a movie. Instead of buying or renting the dvd, people now can choose a movie download instead. Here are some examples of movies you can acquire through a movie download site.

A Fan’s Notes: Bewildered, football-infatuated author becomes disenchanted with the Incredible American Fantasy of prosperity and compliance, and ends up in an insane asylum. A poor rendition of Frederick Exley’s highly considered novel. Cast includes Jerry Orbach, Burgess Meredith, Patricia Collins, Julia Ann Robinson, and Rosemary Murphy. (100 minutes, 1972)

About Adam: This is a true “chick flick”. About Adam is a light hearted romantic comedy about a Don Juan type who courts all three sisters of a quirky, and tight knit, Scottish family. Somehow this charmer has all three women falling head over heels for him. Kate Hudson, Frances O’Connor, and Stuart Townsend star. (2001 Comedy-Romance)

Diggstown: Friendly yam in regards to a con-artist just sprung from detention center sets his sights on a boxing match with boxer Gossett because he need to make a big paycheck. The 2 megastars are extremely good, even if the script is contrived. Cast includes James Woods, Louis Gossett, Jr., Bruce Dern, Oliver Platt, Heather Graham, Randall “Tex” Cobb, Thomas Wilson Brown, Duane Davis, Willie Green, and George D. Wallace. (97 minutes, 1992)

Mrs. Brown: Gratifying drama set in the 1860s. Monarch Victoria Bench has been in grieving for years, following the death of her cherished spouse Albert; living in Windsor Castle, away from London and city life, she only comes out of her shell when her spouse’s believed Highland rider, John Brown Connolly, declines to pamper her. Cast includes Judi Bench, Billy Connolly, Geoffrey Palmer, Antony Sher, Gerald Butler, Richard Pasco, and David Westhead. (103 minutes, 1997)

Wyatt Earp: The story of Wyatt Earp, legendary gunman in the west. Wyatt Earp lived from 1848-1929 and roamed the western frontier towns of America. He was one of the key players at the famous gunfight and the OK corral. Wyatt survived that day, and then hunted down the rest of the bad guys.

Aces High: Aces High is a British war film that deals with WWI. There are exiting dogfights with WWI planes. We follow a pilot’s view of this war as he is lead by a disheartened squad leader. Malcolm McDowell, Christopher Plummer, Simon Ward, and Peter Firth star. (1976 Military)

Cujo: Completely terrifying adaptation of Stephen King thriller in regards to a female and her child terrorized by a rabid St. Bernard. Develops gradually and undoubtedly to horrifying (although not gory) for kids. Cast includes Dee Wallace, Daniel Hugh-Kelly, Christopher Rock, and Factories Watson. (91 minutes, 1983)

Toy Story: A boy’s top choice toy, a doll named Woody, feels bullied and properly so by the emergence of a new toy, a high-tech spaceman model promoted on Television. An adult story masquerading as a kids film, this tale of kinship, fickleness, and the need for acceptance has a vibrant cast of characters led by Woody and his adversary, Thrill Light-year. Their facial proclamations and body language is as excellent as anything ever seen in a conventional animation. Cast includes Tim Allen, Don Rickles, Jim Varney, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Annie Potts, Laurie Metcalf, and R. Lee Ermey. (80 minutes, 1995)

Amistad: This film is based on the true story of an unsuccessful mutiny aboard a slave ship in 1839 bound for the US. The subsequent trial would put the entire foundation of the US legal system on trial. Three great men, abolitionist Theodore Joadson, lawyer Roger Baldwin, and former president John Quincy Adams fight for the freedom, and civil rights, of the African slaves.

If you’re looking for downloads, type in “Watch A Movie Online” to a search engine, see if you find something good. A change in the phrase will sometimes get a better result. You should punch in “Online Movie Downloading” for another set of results.
