Kenya Govt. redeploys public finance management system
Written by Dr. Wealth on February 20th, 2012
The Kenya Government will spend over 4 billion shillings to streamline the public financial management among various ministries, NTV has exclusively learnt. It is currently revamping the Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) which was initiated about ten years ago, but has so far achieved less than satisfactory results. Treasury’s Permanent Secretary Joseph Kinyua says the re-engineering of the system will ensure that it will become next to impossible for officials to tamper with public funds, a practice that has led to the loss of billions of shillings from the exchequer in the past.
