How To Market an MLM
Written by Randy Disert on May 3rd, 2010
It takes a great deal of work to grow your MLM business. Do not fall into the propaganda that a team will be built for you upon your joining the business. The hook in a statement like that is that yes, in a lot of MLM businesses some parts of a team might be grown for you but this is via “spillover.” “Spillover” is the credit you collect when a large number of distributors are recruited into the MLM opportunity by somebody else who also joins your team. You may start seeing some tiny checks float your way depending on the exertion you have placed into the opportunity, but you will not get those large checks promised to you from this spillover alone.
Knowing how to market and sell your business is very significant in order to be successful. For the most part network marketing companies will teach you that you have to talk to your warm market – your friends and family. Even if you are lucrative at this level, it will not be enough for you to assemble the kind of team you need so that you can really prosper. If you stay at this level – recruiting from no more than your close circle of influence – you will soon be out of people to talk to and your business will not grow. Your MLM company will likely support you to start prospecting in your community – at the mall, in coffee shops, local stores, etc. By doing this you will begin conversations with others and hope that they might take an interest in what you are submitting to them. This can be effective, but you will also oppose a lot of rejection for the reason of this approach – you hunted them out, they did not seek you and have no desire to be part of an MLM business.
Some of the greatest people to talk to about MLM are other network marketers. They by now understand the opportunity and are open to it since they are already involved in a network marketing company. But since they are already probably involved with a MLM company they are not expected to join you. Chances are they are struggling with their present opportunity as it is. A way around this problem is to share with them effective information that they can use in order to grow their MLM business. By being a adviser and a source to them, they will come to admire and value you, conceivably even to the point where they join your MLM business.
But I do not know any other network marketers besides those in my current opportunity. Seek no further you are already halfway there – the internet. Network marketing reps are all over the internet and it has never been easier to reach out to them. Just like you, they are out there searching for answers and solutions to their problems. They want to build their opportunity, but the marketing they are currently being taught is not working. They want to come across you so that they can build their businesses and be profitable.
There are various successful ways to connect with these network marketers. Advertising on Google is the best and quickest way in doing just that. This advertising will only make you pay you when a user clicks on your ad. Or, if your budget is still tight, there are some free tactics including article marketing and blogging. There are also scores of free strategies via Web 2.0 social networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, & LinkedIn, all of which are extremely accepted ways to get to be acquainted with new people and grow your MLM business.
