Business Insurance Policies – Pick The Right One

Every company needs business insurance. When you are offered a policy, read it very carefully. Only sign the policy if you have read every word including the small print. Whenever you call your insurer, your agent should give you full and complete attention. If they do not, then immediately call the agents manager and demand satisfaction. Don’t ever let someone that is paid to render a service to you, give you lousy service. If the need arises to file an insurance claim, you should make sure you know who the contact person is.

Nobody likes being blown off by someone busy doing other things when they are supposed to be paying attention to you, especially when you are paying that person for his services. You need to clearly establish who to contact if you should need to file a claim. You should also have a key employee who is the one to call the insurer. Employees should be trained properly to know how to communicate with the business insurance agency.

Always award some kind of bonus to your workers if they can keep the number of claims down. Your policy should cover disability, life insurance, health insurance, casualty and property insurance. Make sure that all communication with the insurer is in written form as you may need to prove something in the future.

Demand one point of contact from your business insurance professional. This may not be easy if your business is a smaller account. Business insurance companies train their agents to report each call and exactly what was discussed.

Don’t make any agreements that cannot be put in writing in your policy. If your business is a smaller account, don’t allow the insurer to give you substandard service. Business insurance agencies require the employees to document everything. That includes phone calls or meetings in person. Do not make idle threats to your insurance agent about canceling your policy. If you feel you are not getting what you pay for, then just cancel the policy. Be sure and establish a relationship with your agent. This will help when it comes time to call upon his services. Try to keep the agent on your side so he will fight for you whenever the need arises.
